Greenhouse gas emissions from transportation account for about 29 percent of total U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, making it the largest contributor of U.S. GHG emissions. Stopping GHG from cars will be a gigantic step in the right direction, and if taxes are increased it is completely worth it.

That is a legitimate role of government: to steer people into the direction of good policies, so yes, it should subsidize electric cars more. Let's not forget, the US government also subsidized the corn industry...

No need for subsidies anymore since very soon the electric cars will be cheaper to operate: fewer repairs and the cost for the electricity is also cheaper than the petrol cost

The government should rather put its resources in providing alternative options to driving individual cars: public city transport and a high-speed rail network for middle distances as most other developed countries do
