Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world. And, if we compare cricket to other sports like tennis, golf, football etc then they earn nothing as compared to them, so cricketers are not overpaid. So, is your argument that all athletes earn too much or only cricketers.

Stephen Curry makes around 46 million dollars a year, even though far less people follow basketball than cricket because basketball is only played and watched in the west while cricket is played in every corner of the earth. The number one cricket player makes 8 million a year. I think cricketers should be paid more.
