I think life is all about the pursuit of happiness, as every decision we make is meant to maximize our long term happiness. America is 16th on the happiness index. Though that means there are 15 countries with people that are happier than average, relative to the world 16th is great.

Happiness for who, I’ll tell you, white people. For most of US History minorities have been oppressed. Not just slavery, although that is the largest injustice America has committed, but also Japanese internment, McCarthyism, Mexican-cession, Elis Island, Angel Island, Native Americans getting pushed off their land, and any war in the Middle East. When you say to maximize our happiness you don’t mean all Americans, you mean all white Americans, nay, all white people.

Everybody in America in modern day, across all races, ethnic groups, etc, is better off than at least 50% of the world

The United States is essentially a third world country. The GOP agenda sacrifices the livelihood of the average American for the pretense of upholding conservative values or adhering to Christian doctrine. QOL is going down in America, political polarization is going up, and the average American is actually getting dumber (US News). Though America is definitely preferable to many parts of the world, I wouldn't really characterize being born in America as "lucky."
