Should the Gifted and Talented Program be eliminated?

At the elementary school level they probably don't make much sense and it is better to have kids of all abilities together. The tests to qualify for entry into the G&T programs seem a bit questionable (e.g., pattern recognition).

It is ridiculous just to throw out any programs which some groups of people don\'t do well in. The question should be how to make them do better.
