ADB 18- The higher standard of living associated with urbanization provides people with better food, education, housing, and health care. Urban growth generates revenues that fund infrastructure projects, reducing congestion and improving public health.

Migration to cities has improved human kind's development for centuries. It has happened in Europe and China to great effect so it should work in West Africa too: better access to health care, better schools, better infrastructure

Reaza 2016- Recent urbanization trends, particularly in Africa, show that in many cases urbanization is taking place in spite of more jobs and economic growth. As the WDR on Jobs (2013) showed, urbanization is increasing and GDP per capita is falling. In most African cities, job creation struggles to keep up with urbanization and population increases, and many cities experience high unemployment.

Wallace 13- Cities bring together masses of people, improve communication links among them, and increase the ability of private grievances to accumulate and circulate. This creates situations ripe for authoritarian takeovers.
