Yes, the big internet platforms are stifling competition in either buying up or destroying promising platforms.

Yes, as has happened with Standard Oil a hundred years ago. Once a company reaches near monopoly status, US politics will turn against it. Argument is not that the platform harming customers (since their product is free!) but that they harming small businesses with their monopoly pricing power.
