He is showing the world that America is now a different country than what it was under the Trump presidency, as we are now ready to tackle climate change at the legislative level.

No. Carbon credits will be worse than the petrodollar system. Just another way for a central authority to issue a debt instrument and monopolize energy consumption. In the past the US made up stories about WMD and terrorism as a pretext for war. Of course, this was all BS to defend the petrodollar system. In the future wars will be waged to defend the carbon credit system. They'll call it: "crimes against the Earth". Everyone will agree and we'll see more killing and war. There's nothing hopeful about fear of a climate apocalypse, carbon credits, increased taxation, loss of liberty or rationalizations for war.

The summit was just talk with no binding actions for going forward

Getting people to talk is the only way forward even though there were no binding agreements yet, those will come at the next summit

Talk is the first prerequisite for action, so the climate summit was a crucial first step forward
